Steven Slawinski has been practicing as a Federal Public Defender for 16 years. He has worked in the Charlotte, NC and Rochester, NY defender offices representing clients charged with almost any possible federal crime, from supporting terrorism to mail theft and everything in between. Several of Steve’s clients have been LGBTQ+ and they have special needs which need to be addressed as they work their way through the federal criminal justice system. Prior to his federal service, Steve was an Army JAG Officer, where he represented clients discharged under “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell”. Steve lives outside of Rochester, NY with his husband, Chris, and their Zoom-bombing labradoodle, Toby.
