Protecting Trans Rights: The 7th Circuit and Beyond

On Wednesday, June 7, the LGBT Bar hosted a call-in cosponsored by the Transgender Law Center on the recent 7th Circuit injunction granted in Whitaker v. Kenosha Unified School District. To listen to the call recording, become a member of the LGBT Bar today!

The 7th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the school district’s treatment of Ash Whitaker violated Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution. Hear from members of the legal team and other experts as they talk about how this precedent-setting victory was won and what it means for transgender rights moving forward.

Speakers include: Ilona Turner, Transgender Law Center; Joseph Wardenski, Relman, Dane & Cofax; Shannon Minter, National Center for Lesbian Rights; and Joshua Block, American Civil Liberties Union.
