Reminder: The National LGBT Bar Association Seeks Nominations for 2017 Student and Attorney Awards

Don't forget to submit your nomination for one of the LGBT Bar's annual awards! All submissions are due by next Friday, April 21, at 5:00pm EST

Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40
Each year, the LGBT Bar recognizes LGBT legal professionals under the age of 40 who have distinguished themselves in their field and have demonstrated a profound commitment to LGBT equality. 

To nominate an individual for the 2017 Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40 Award, please submit the following to nominations@lgbtbar.org by Friday, April 21, 2017 at 5:00pm EST:
  • Nomination Form
  • Statement of Support of Nominee (not to exceed one page). Please Include: 
    • Details on achievements within their legal field
    • Details on their commitment to LGBT equality
  • Current Resume of Nominee
  • (2) Letters of Support
Please note, all nominees must be under 40 as of August 3, 2017

The Dan Bradley Award
The Dan Bradley Award is the LGBT Bar's highest honor. It recognizes the efforts of a member of the LGBT legal community whose work, like attorney Dan Bradley, has led the way in our struggle for equality under the law. 

To nominate an individual for the Dan Bradley, please email their name, along with a brief description of their work, to nominations@lgbtbar.org by 5:00pm EST on Friday, April 21, 2017

Student Leadership Award
The National LGBT Bar Association’s Student Leadership Award is the organization’s highest honor for law students. The award will recognize a law student who has demonstrated leadership within their school and in the surrounding community, especially in the area of LGBT equality.

Michael Greenberg Student Writing Competition
Established in memory of Michael Greenberg, a former National LGBT Bar Association board member and Philadelphia attorney who died in 1996 from AIDS-related complications, this exciting competition is dedicated to encouraging and recognizing outstanding law student scholarship on the legal issues affecting lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) persons.

International Association of LGBT Judges' Student Writing Competition
The International Association of LGBT Judges sponsors a writing competition for all law students attending the 2017 Lavender Law Conference & Career Fair. This is an exciting opportunity for law students who wish to pursue a career as a member of the United States judiciary.

Timeline
All three student awards will follow the same final submission date of Friday, April 21, 2017 at 5:00pm EST. Late entries will not be considered. Students are able to enter all competitions, but only if they turn in different works for each submission.
