Tricia Prettypaul is part of The Travelers Companies as an Associate Managing Attorney, in Melville, New York. Tricia joined Travelers in January 2007 as a legal intern and then as an attorney in the Claim Legal organization, in New York City. In that position Tricia amassed a broad array of litigation experience with bench trials, motion and arbitration hearings, appearances in both civil and supreme court and before the appellate court, research, investigation reviews, drafting documents, and provided training to both the company partners and staff. As a litigator with over a decade of experience, her role constantly evolves with increasing challenges. Tricia became the committee lead of the firm’s investigation group, the lead of the appeals group and the lead of the regulatory compliance committee. As the current Associate Managing Attorney in the Melville, NY location, she helps oversee the operation of a 25-person team and continues to provide guidance and advice in the appellate, innovation and regulatory space. 

She is dedicated to philanthropy, volunteerism, and propelling diversity initiatives within the company. She is responsible for planning, programming, creating presentations on diversity initiatives, research and writing the content for the events, hosting, or presenting during the events, and organizing regional philanthropy efforts. After leading the local NYC Pride Diversity Network (DN) for 9 years, and chairing the NYC Diversity Committee for 5 years, Tricia became the co-chair the enterprise Pride DN’s professional development committee and is a member of the business impact, legislative affairs, community outreach, and pride squad sub-committees. Tricia participates in Travelers’ innovation initiatives and hackathons and works on cross functional teams. She currently holds two leadership positions on the cross functional innovation teams and represents Travelers as a chaperone for the FinTech Innovation Lab in New York. She regularly takes part in community service initiatives, corporate sponsored events and works on pro bono initiatives. 

She currently holds board positions for both Sigma Sigma Rho Sorority Inc., and its affiliate non-profit foundation, offering advice on organizational growth. She has formal mentorships with students from Fordham University and high school students. As part of the New York State Bar Association she is a committee member of the LGBTQ Law Section and is active on the Committee for Attorney Well-being. Prior to joining Travelers, Tricia worked for State Farm Insurance Company as a claims representative. Tricia is a graduate of Hofstra University School of Law and received a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Fordham University. Tricia is also devoted to her loving wife and enjoys spending time with her family and members of her close-knit West Indian and Caribbean American community.
