As State Policy Director at the National Center for Transgender Equality, Arli works with state and local advocates to modernize ID document gender change policies, remove insurance exclusions for coverage of transition-related care, and improve other state-level protections for transgender people. Arli is dedicated to improving and expanding access to legal services for trans communities through NCTE’s Trans Legal Services Network. Arli is an attorney admitted to practice in New York and D.C. and received a J.D. from American University Washington College of Law in 2013 and a B.A. from Wesleyan University in 2004. Prior to law school Arli worked at an immigration law firm in San Francisco and a socially responsible investment organization in Maryland. Arli speaks English and Spanish and grew up in New York City.
