The presenters will focus on practical guidance to enforce the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in the combined cases of Bostock/Zarda/Stephens, holding that the prohibition on sex discrimination contained in Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 includes a prohibition against both gender identity and sexual orientation discrimination. The panel will address how this landmark holding will affect judges’ interpretations of other federal statutes including the Fair Housing Act and Title IX, as well as constitutional protections, and how we can enforce this ruling in the broadest way possible.
