The presentation will focus on experiences related to the creation and operation of a free legal clinic specifically geared towards serving the legal needs of LGBTQ+ individuals. Learn about the impetus behind a clinic’s founding: disproportionate access to justice and legal services in the LGBTQ+ community, coupled with disproportionate incarceration, and the factors contributing to this reality. The practicalities involved in the creation of a clinic, hurdles encountered along the way, case examples, and any audience questions will also be addressed.
