Practitioners from Alabama, Arizona, Kansas, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Utah will discuss advocating for LGBTQ clients (both in urban and rural areas) and provide examples of how applicable statutes and policies impact their clients’ outcomes. Workshop attendees will:
- Develop a deeper understanding of legal challenges facing LGBTQ clients in conservative jurisdictions.
- Compare/contrast the public policies that may underpin the statutes and policies impacting LGBTQ clients in conservative jurisdictions.
- Learn how practitioners in conservative jurisdictions are successfully advocating for LGBTQ clients.
