The past year of responding to the ever-changing policies and protocols associated with the Covid 19 Global Pandemic have left many feeling frustrated and exhausted. Those with mental health challenges or who are neuro-diverse have reported their conditions were exacerbated during the Pandemic due to bereavement, isolation, decrease/loss of employment and/or struggles with child care. Statistically, those who identify as Black and Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC) have disproportionately suffered these conditions at a higher rate than those who self-identify as White. Additionally, members of the LGBTQ+ community have reported increased challenges with mental health and neurodiversity than their Cisgender, Heterosexual counterparts. The legal community is no exception to the disparity. This workshop will discuss the affect of the Pandemic on the Mental Health and Neurodiversity of LGBTQ+ attorneys from a BIPOC perspective.
