ABOUT SARA
Sara Deskins Tucker (she/her) is an award-winning attorney and recognized leader in the legal profession with a long history of advocating for inclusion. Sara currently serves as Assistant General Counsel at Kimberly-Clark Corporation. In her current role, Sara leads the company’s legal program focused on quality, regulatory, and product safety compliance, as well as proactive risk management. Sara previously served as Associate General Counsel for Acella Pharmaceuticals, LLC. As in-house legal counsel, Sara has held multi-dimensional roles with global impact and her experience includes litigation, investigations, regulatory, and corporate law. Sara is regularly consulted for her specialized expertise in issues involving regulated products of all types.
Sara began her private practice at Alston & Bird LLP as an Associate in the Products Liability group, specializing in pharmaceutical litigation. She then transitioned to Greenberg Traurig LLP, where she honed her expertise in the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors, ultimately rising to the position of Shareholder. Sara’s career continued to flourish at Womble Bond Dickinson LLP, where she served as a Partner in their Mass Torts group, providing guidance to FDA-regulated companies related to a variety of products. Throughout her career, she has represented numerous Fortune 500 companies in high-stakes litigation and trials across federal and state courts nationwide. She also developed expertise counseling companies in complying with FDA regulations and mitigating legal risk.
Sara’s academic journey included graduating with honors from Georgia Tech’s School of Public Policy, where her thesis centered on court rulings related to LGBTQ+ rights. She furthered her education at Georgia State University’s College of Law, graduating with honors and receiving an award for her commitment to pro bono work.
Sara’s exceptional legal acumen has earned her numerous accolades, including the American Bar Association’s “On the Rise – Top 40 Young Lawyers” award and repeated recognition as a Rising Star by Georgia Super Lawyers magazine. She is also a proud recipient of The LGBTQ+ Bar’s “40 Best LGBTQ+ Lawyers Under 40,” which honored her unwavering commitment to LGBTQ+ equality. Beyond her professional achievements, Sara is a passionate advocate for inclusion and belonging in the workplace and was recently featured in Modern Counsel magazine for her accomplishments in this area. Sara has also provided pro bono representation in cases ranging from abortion to asylum, demonstrating her dedication to making a positive impact in the community.
