    ABOUT ASHIANNA

    Ashianna Esmail is EVP, Chief Legal Officer of Flexport, responsible for the Company’s legal and compliance functions. At Flexport, Ashianna is the executive sponsor of the company’s Pride Alliance employee resource group and is active in the company’s global humanitarian aid and environmental sustainability efforts through Flexport.org. She has previously spoken on various technology & risk topics at the annual Lesbians Who Tech & Allies conference, where she has also participated in recruitment efforts for LGBTQ+ candidates for both Paypal and Flexport. Prior to joining Flexport, Ashianna was a senior legal leader at both Paypal as a Director of Product and Regulatory and as Corporate SEC counsel at Xoom Corporation, where she took the company through its first year as a public company. Prior to Paypal and Xoom, Ashianna was in private practice at Latham & Watkins LLP focused on securities law compliance and on corporate transactions including securities offerings, capital markets and public and private mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining Latham, Ashianna served as a law clerk to Chief Judge Emily C. Hewitt of the United States Court of Federal Claims and also practiced in the general counsel’s office of Telecom Development Company of Afghanistan, Ltd. (Roshan) in Kabul, Afghanistan. She received her JD from the University of Michigan Law School and her BA at the University of California at Berkeley.

    ABOUT MORGAN

    Morgan Fong, General Counsel for Instacart, leads the legal department and advises the Company on a wide range of legal, governance, policy and business issues.

    Prior to joining Instacart, Fong was in-house counsel at Trulia, an online real estate portal, where he led the company’s commercial, IP, privacy and product counseling functions. Fong began his career in private practice at the law firms of Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati P.C. and Fenwick & West LLP, representing public and private companies in a variety of corporate and intellectual property matters.

    Fong is a graduate of Yale University receiving a Bachelors of Arts in Economics and East Asian Studies and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. Fong is also the executive sponsor of Rainbow Carrots, a LGBTQIA+ Employee Resource Group dedicated to celebrating diversity in the LGBTQ+ community, driving improvements in the work environment, and providing support and opportunities for queer Instacart employees.
