Laura Holleman
Goldman Sachs, Managing Director, General Counsel Investment Banking Division
Laura is general counsel of the Investment Banking Division (IBD) with global responsibility for the IBD Legal and the Capital Markets Legal groups. She serves as counsel to the Firmwide Commitments Committee and Asia Pacific Commitments Committee and is a member of the IBD Client and Business Standards Committee. Laura also represents the firm on the Equity Capital Markets Board of the Association for Financial Markets in Europe. She is a managing director ally for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Network.
In addition to her work with the LGBT Network at Goldman Sachs, Laura frequently engages in LGBT outreach events with law firms, schools, and other businesses and LGBT organizations such as Stonewall, providing advice and guidance on establishing and enhancing Ally Networks. She is also a mentor for a number of LGBT lawyers in London. Having been part of the original effort of the Goldman Sachs LGBT network to enhance the transgender pillar, she regularly attends events in support of the transgender community.
Laura is also involved in music and is a Trustee of the Pimlico Musical Foundation which provides music tuition and performance opportunities for children and young people living in Pimlico. The Foundation promotes social cohesion by encouraging contact between people of different ages, faiths, ethnicities, and backgrounds.
Laura joined Goldman Sachs in 1998 as a vice president in the Special Execution Group and became co-head of the European IBD legal group in 2001. She was named Managing Director in 2004. We are so pleased to be spending an evening to celebrate Laura.
