The Euro LGBT Family Law Institute will host their third annual European regional meeting on March 7, 2020 in Frankfurt, Germany. To apply, please fill out the form at the bottom of this page.
This meeting is for existing members of the Euro LGBT Family Institute first, and other members of any group FLI internationally. Other European attorneys who identify as leaders in LGBT family law and have a significant practice area on this topic are welcome to apply. The meeting will be held in English but we hope to have support for practitioners who do not speak English in future.
The purpose of the meeting is for participants to develop and share strategies for protecting LGBT individuals and families across Europe, with an emphasis on the ability of LGBT couples and families to migrate between European nations. Attendees will be able to network and discuss ways to make our advocacy more effective. Optional networking social events will be planned on Friday evening, Saturday evening and Sunday morning.
Like all FLI meetings, this meeting will be off the record and closed door in order to promote free expression of ideas and issues. Meetings are interactive and participant driven. There are no speakers, no written material and no continuing legal education credits.
There is no fee to attend, although participants will be asked to pay for their own meals and lodging. If you are able to make a donation to offset costs, this would be very welcomed. If you need financial assistance to attend, especially if you are from a region that is underrepresented, please add this information to your registration form.
To guarantee that the discourse remains at a high level, and to ensure that all participants are able to contribute meaningfully to the conversation, interested parties who are not current FLI members must submit an application.
Applicants will be selected based on their experience with LGBT family creation, protection and dissolution, in accordance with the FLI Mission Statement. Applicants should have familiarity with these issues and may be asked to provide evidence describing their familiarity with LGBT family law. Please click here to read the full FLI mission statement.
