Callie Butcher (she/her/hers) is a Dallas-based attorney at her firm, Butcher Legal Group PLLC, where she focuses on advocating for and serving the LGBTQ+ community. Callie also has expertise representing clients in complex patent litigation matters involving a variety of technologies, as well as assisting clients in connection with IP acquisitions, patent cross-licensing, and IP due diligence, as well as trademark, trade secret, and unfair competition claims. For her work, Callie has been recognized in the 2021 through 2024 editions of The Best Lawyers as a “Ones to Watch in America” and “Women In The Law: Ones To Watch.” Callie was named as one of D Magazine’s Best Lawyers Under 40 in 2024, and she was named a 2022 “Top Women Lawyer” by Texas Diversity Council.
Beyond her practice, Callie is a recognized community leader and advocate with a passion for serving her community. Callie is a Past President of the Dallas LGBT Bar Association and was the first openly transgender person to serve on the board of the Dallas Bar Association. When not working, Callie volunteers with local organizations, including Lambda Legal, where she serves as Co-chair of its Dallas Leadership Committee, Black Tie Dinner, where she serves as Chair of Board Governance, Dallas Women Lawyers Association, where she serves on the Board as the VP of the Law School Committee, and she is a founding board member of the Pride Museum of Texas. Callie regularly speaks at conferences, events, or organizational meetings around the country about LGBTQ+ legal issues, DEI initiatives, and career development.
In her free time, Callie enjoys spending time with her partner and two children.
Callie is excited to bring her passion for service to and in support of LGBTQ+ lives to the Board of the National LGBTQ+ Bar Association.
