Cameron has been with Alaska Airlines since 2018, most recently as deputy general counsel with responsibility for commercial disputes, employment and labor litigation, and regulatory investigations and enforcement. He also shares primary responsibility in managing legal risk associated with major events, providing critical advice and counsel on high-stakes issues and crisis response.
As Vice President of Legal, Cameron is responsible for representing Alaska Air Group companies’ legal interests globally in litigation, accident response, investigations and regulatory enforcement matters. Additionally, he assumes responsibility for all labor and employment law matters. With unwavering integrity and a safety focused mindset, Cameron builds relationships and works effectively with internal and external industry professionals. Cameron is a highly engaged and visible leader known for acting quickly to resolve issues on his team and fostering camaraderie in otherwise high-pressure situations.
Cameron has worked in the aviation and airline industries for twenty years. Before joining Alaska, Cameron served as senior attorney and director at American Airlines in Dallas. Cameron practiced law in the San Francisco office of Nixon Peabody LLP, where he focused on a variety of contentious matters, including aviation product liability, commercial disputes, and labor and employment litigation. Cameron received his JD from the University of San Francisco School of Law. He earned a Bachelor’s in Science in Airway Flight Science from Arizona State University. Prior to the practice of law, Cameron was a CRJ pilot for Mesa Airlines in Phoenix, Arizona, where he also served as an elected status representative for the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA).
Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Cameron resides in Seattle, Washington with his husband Ivan. They enjoy CrossFit, traveling to adventurous places across the globe and spending time with their dog Nigel. Cameron serves on the East Lake Community Counsel’s Land Use Development Committee.
