Jason Burch is Legal Director, Regulatory, at Uber — managing mobility regulatory affairs in the United States. He is based in the company’s NYC office. Prior to Uber, Jason was an associate at Sidley Austin for five years, in the Chicago & NYC offices.
Formerly a professional baseball player, Jason began his career in 2003 and pitched for the St. Louis Cardinals, the Colorado Rockies, and the Baltimore Orioles organizations.
Jason is on the Board of the LGBTQ+ Bar Association, and Dibbs, a blockchain-enabled service for creating digital tokens of physical collectibles. He volunteers as an attorney advisor for Upwardly Global, helping immigrants and refugees restart their careers in the US.
Jason earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska, where he was a captain of the baseball team and played in two College World Series. He earned his law degree from Northwestern University in Chicago, where he also represented the law school in Guaymate, Dominican Republic, as a member of the Northwestern Access to Health Project, an interdisciplinary human rights team that assesses public health needs and initiatives in developing countries.
