The National LGBT Bar Association’s President, Dale Noll, didn’t always plan on going into law. He began working in IT before realizing that he wanted to pursue a career where he could help people more directly. “I wanted to do something to improve lives,” Dale says. He attended the University of Miami School of Law. While in law school, Dale attended the LGBT Bar’s Annual Conference and Career Fair in Miami in 2010.
“It was a great experience,” Dale says of the LGBT Bar’s Annual Conference. “I actually got a summer associate position out of it.”
Dale highly recommends the LGBT Bar’s Annual Conference and Career Fair because it is “a great opportunity from the career fair component to the opportunities it provides to connect with other lawyers.” One of Dale’s favorite things about the conference is how there is always something to learn. “You might learn something you hadn’t thought about before but that could be very important to your practice. It really helps people learn how to work with one another to improve the LGBT community overall.”
Currently an associate with Akerman LLP, Dale practices fiduciary litigation. As President of the LGBT Bar, Dale is proud of the community the LGBT Bar fosters. “It is really important for attorneys to have a network of other professionals to rely on and connect to. People can learn from one another and rely on one another to make their practices the best they can be.”
Dale would like more people to know that the LGBT Bar has many opportunities beyond just the Annual Conference and Career Fair. “I hope that people take advantage of the amazing opportunities of Lavender Law, but there are also other events where they can learn more about our organization and connect with others.”
