Welcome to The LGBT Bar’s new home on the web!
As The Bar kicks off our 26th year, we’ve redesigned our site to highlight the incredible work our members do every day. Our new brand underscores our commitment to showcasing the achievements of our members; creating new opportunities for LGBT legal professionals to connect and collaborate; and to provide the best professional development for the LGBT legal community.
In the coming days and weeks, we will be adding new content, features and programs. Here are just a few of the highlights you’ll find on the all-new lgbtqbar.org:
- Lawyers Changing Lives: We know the real, positive impact LGBT legal professionals have on the lives of their clients, and communities. “Lawyers Changing Lives” will highlight a diverse array of LGBT Bar members who are doing just that. From adoption attorneys helping new families secure legal protections, to tax lawyers who are helping couples navigate changing federal laws, we’re proud to shine a spotlight on the good work our members do.
- The Bar Scene: This is the one stop for all the information and details on upcoming Bar events, as well as a photo gallery of past get-togethers and highlights from our “Out & Proud” receptions.
- Bar Talk: For the first time ever, we’re proud to unveil a blog created by, and for, LGBT legal professionals. Bar Talk will feature guest posts from LGBT Bar members, as well as information on professional development opportunities; LGBT legal news and information; and a behind-the-scenes look at what we do every day.
In addition, we’re continuing to offer the biggest, and best, resources for LGBT law students including networking opportunities and leadership positions. Our new site will also highlight LGBT Bar members who are experts in their respective fields, and showcase the firms, attorneys, advocates and others who make our work our possible.
I’m incredibly excited to kick off our next half-century with this new site. Please leave your thoughts about what you’d like to see on the new lgbtqbar.org, or any insight you have into our new programs, in the comments section below.
As always, thank you for being part of The LGBT Bar. We’re so proud to be the voice of the LGBT legal community.
