The National LGBT Bar Association’s executive director, D’Arcy Kemnitz, issued the following statement regarding the passing of Philadelphia attorney David Rosenblum, a Bar member who was a co-founder of the organization’s LGBT career fair, and a past co-chair of the Lavender Law Conference:
“David was an incredible advocate for our community, a staunch supporter of The LGBT Bar, and a great friend. His upbeat nature impacted everyone he met. His leadership in co-founding our career fair also led to countless young LGBT legal professionals finding their calling, and their careers, in our profession. David was a true champion of LGBT equality and opportunity. Our thoughts are with his husband, Stephen, and his loved ones.”
The LGBT Bar’s Career Fair, held each year at Lavender Law, is a signature component of the organization’s work to connect LGBT law students with meaningful careers in the legal field. In addition to his work with The LGBT Bar, where he also served on the Board of Directors, David was Legal Director of the Mazzoni Center in Philadelphia, an organization that provides health care and legal services for the LGBT community. He also served as an Adjunct Professor at Temple University’s Beasley School of Law where he taught a course on sexual orientation and gender identity law.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that individuals make a donation to the Mazzoni Center’s Legal Services Department.
