The National LGBT Bar Association has already begun gearing up for the 2014 Lavender Law® Conference, Career Fair & LGBT Legal Expo and we are excited to share plans for our best conference yet! Fresh off of our 25th Anniversary Lavender Law, we are focused on looking ahead to the next 25 years and building on the incredible success already achieved by the LGBT community.
This year’s event will be held from August 21-23, 2014 at the Sheraton Times Square Hotel in New York City. Lavender Law will continue to offer the most popular programs from past years in addition to brand new programs focused on the next 25 years. Attending Lavender Law in New York will allow legal professionals to experience the exciting environment of the city all while taking advantage of educational opportunities offered at the conference.
Attendees at Lavender Law can earn up to 12 continuing legal education credits, including ethics credit, for attending workshops focused on cutting edge issues impacting the LGBT legal community. Our most popular workshops in past years focused on topics such as religion and the LGBT community, the value of networking and intellectual property.
Institutes and receptions specifically for family law attorneys, transgender law attorneys, tax practitioners and corporate counsel provide opportunities for professional development and networking between individuals in similar practice areas.
Students at Lavender Law can enjoy many resources, including the Lavender Law Career Fair, the largest minority career fair in the legal profession. Over 150 recruiters from major law firms, corporations, government organizations and non-profit organizations will speak directly with students, promoting a sense of inclusion in the legal profession. Additionally, students are invited to take advantage of individual career counseling sessions in which qualified professionals provide advice on students’ resumes, cover letters and interviewing techniques.
We will continue to update our new website with additional Lavender Law programs so keep checking back. Thank you for your support of Lavender Law and the LGBT Bar. We look forward to seeing you in New York!
