Joseph P. Vardner is the Head of Integrity & Security Risk Management at Meta Platforms Inc. after previously serving as Strategic Counsel to the company’s Chief Compliance Officer. Prior to joining Meta, he was at Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. and designed the bank’s antitrust compliance program. Before his recent positions building compliance processes, Mr. Vardner worked at a top global law firm and the U.S. Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division. At the DOJ, Mr. Vardner represented the United States at trial in its challenge of a provision in agreements between a credit card network and merchants. He was also on the litigation team for its challenge to the merger between AT&T and T-Mobile. He was awarded the Attorney General’s Distinguished Service Award and twice awarded the Antitrust Division’s Award of Distinction. At all four organizations, he served on the board of their LGBT diversity programs and is currently the co-lead of Meta’s PRIDE employee resource group. He lives in New York City with his husband and their two cats.
