1. Does your law school intentionally seek out LGBTQ+ prospective students?
Yes
a. If so, how and where are your efforts directed?

To LGBTQ+ prospects at recruiting fairs, in our recruiting materials, in
targeted emails to students who identify as LGBTQ+, and through efforts  of our LGBTQ+ Alumni Advisory Board. In addition, the school’s
admissions office collaborates with the LGBTQ+ Cultural Center on the
Indiana University Bloomington campus and with the IU LGBTQ+ Alumni  Association.

2. Does your law school's welcome packet for admitted students include mention of identity group support for LGBTQ+ students, as well as for students of color or other minorities?
Yes

The welcome packet refers to OUTlaw, the law school’s student organization that supports LGBTQ+ student activities. It also contains a link to these activities on our website: https://www.law.indiana.edu/academics/experiential-education/projects/lgbt.shtml

3. Does your school offer students the option to self-identify as LGBTQ+ in admissions applications or post-enrollment forms?

The law school pays registration fees for students attending the Lavender Law conference and the National LGBT Bar Association’s annual conference.

No

The school’s LGBT+ Project is conducting optional training this year.

16. Does your law school provide a gender-inclusive restroom in any and/or all law school buildings?

a. How is that restroom identified (i.e., what does the signage say, is it identified on building maps, is there a gender-inclusive restroom policy that applies to all restrooms and where is that statement published, etc.)?

With federally mandated signs on the door. Students have also been made aware of its availability.

18. Does your law school have an active, visible LGBTQ+ law student group that is supported by the institution?
Yes

OUTlaw is the law school’s student alliance working to promote equal rights and protect against discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender. It also serves as a support organization for LGBTQIA+ students, a resource for professional contacts, and a liaison to the Administration on issues of concern for the LGBTQIA+ community.

19. Does your law school have a hate/bias incident policy that students are required to follow?
